About Us
Our founder, Delberta L. Cotcher, has focused her time, attention, and resources for the past 40 years for the betterment of our country’s youth. As a result of her experiences, she has perceived an unquenchable need in children, a need that is not limited by age, by socio-economic status, by ethnicity, or even how much love their parents bestow upon them. A need we felt ourselves as children, and still feel today. The need to feel connected, to feel loved, and to know that we matter to someone.
It has been her passion to bring to the parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, of our children a tool, an instrument, a means, to alleviate the pain of separation anxiety, feelings of abandonment, and resultant low self-esteem that children experience when separated from a loved one. And also our pain, the pain we feel when life’s circumstances cause us to depart from the ones that so desperately want us to stay.
When my youngest son Steven was deployed in the Marine Corps, he left behind his young wife and two year old son. Returning home, his young son did not know him, and acted afraid of him. That broke his heart. He said “no one else will experience this pain if I can help it.” That’s when our family decided it was time for our bear to come back. This time the bear would not be just for us!
That passion has led to the development of “MyHuggy”, a unique and exciting tool that strengthens the foundation of relationships. MyHuggy helps fill the emotional needs of our children. MyHuggy lets you be there in your loved one’s heart and mind even when you’re not. MyHuggy keeps your words in your own voice alive for your child or other loved one.
No matter where you are, no matter how far from them, you're only one hug away from those you love.
